About

My name is Andrew Fenstermaker. I graduated from The University of Iowa in 2007. My wife Kara and our English BUlldog Diezel have been living in North Liberty, Iowa ever since. I taught third grade for a year but have since switched to first grade. I got a masters degree in Technology Integration and I am always looking for new ways to integrate technology into my classroom.

I created this website in hopes of creating a communication tool with not only parents but also other teachers.I continue to tweak the website to better meet the goals of the 21st Century Learner. I am always open to feedback as well as the possibility to collaborate with other classrooms.

My first graders each have their own blogs in addition to using Skype to connect with other classrooms to learn about their schools, communities and states. Students get the opportunity to manipulate a SMARTBoard, create digital stories in both PhotoStory and with Story Jumper as well as create podcasts throughout the school year.

My Philosophy

Every child can and will learn. Learning is not one dimensional. Technology, humor, games and a rigorous curriculum will be utilized to engage students and prepare them with not only academic skills but life skills for the 21st Century.

"Good is the biggest enemy of GREAT!"
